The Origin Of Elastic

Elastic bands first appeared in a hat factory in 1812, called elastic band round caps, but they were actually made of springs and steel wires.

The real elastic band was accidentally invented by the chemist Marsentosh and the inventor Hancock in 1820 in the experiment of extracting rubber concentration.

Masantoshi was the first to use the properties of rubber to put rubber between two layers of fabric to invent waterproof tape. Hancock obtained the original elastic band patent in 1820.
